Technical
Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge offer the best support for the Web Speech API. Mozilla Firefox and Safari have limited or no support. We recommend Chrome for the best experience.
Make sure you've granted microphone permission to the browser. On Chrome, click the lock icon in the address bar → Site Settings → Microphone → Allow. Also check that no other application is exclusively using the microphone.
Yes! VoiceFlow works on Android with Chrome browser. On iOS (iPhone/iPad), support is limited due to Apple's restrictions on the Web Speech API. We recommend Android + Chrome for mobile use.
The Web Speech API has a built-in timeout for silence. If you pause for too long, recording may stop. Simply click "Start Recording" again — your previous transcript is preserved and new speech will be appended.
Privacy & Security
VoiceFlow itself does not store your audio or transcripts on any server. Audio is processed by the browser's Web Speech API (powered by Google), which may process audio data according to Google's own privacy policy. Your final text stays in your browser only.
For highly sensitive content (legal, medical, or financial), be aware that audio is processed via Google's servers as part of the Web Speech API. For maximum privacy, consider using offline transcription software.
